Welcome to the County Parks Community Garden Hub!

Community gardens are vibrant spaces where neighbors come together to grow food, share knowledge, and build stronger, healthier communities. This hub is designed to connect residents with everything they need to explore, join, or support community gardening with County Parks and Recreation.

Whether you're an experienced grower or just getting started, you’ll find resources, garden locations, and volunteer opportunities all in one place.

By expanding access to community gardens, we aim to strengthen local food production, promote environmental stewardship, and create welcoming spaces for people of all ages. Together, let's celebrate the role gardens play in improving wellbeing across our neighborhoods.

Please contact each park location for more information on plot sizes, costs, and availability, as it varies by location.

Community Garden Resources

The County partners with the Master Gardener Association of San Diego County. Find additional garden locations, resources and how to start or restore a community garden on their website.

Master Gardeners are volunteers trained and supervised by the University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE), part of UC’s Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources. San Diego County has over 300 Master Gardeners that provide home gardening and pest control information free to the public.

Master Gardeners support programs at school gardens, earth-friendly gardens, community gardens, and healthy-home gardens. They even host workshops and events. San Diego County residents can also call or email Master Gardeners anytime with questions about gardening or garden maintenance.
