Seasonal Park Attendant

The Seasonal Park Attendant classification is an hourly, temporary position which may be located at any of our facilities throughout the County. Seasonal Park Attendants assist department staff with providing information and services to the public and support staff with basic duties; and may be full or part-time. The minimum qualifications required to be considered for this classification include:

A high school diploma and one year part-time paid or volunteer experience in working with the public in providing a service rather than delivering a product.  Experience in: public relations; developing and presenting educational programs; explaining rules and regulations; housekeeping; grounds keeping; grounds maintenance; or minor construction will be considered as qualifying.

Seasonal Park Attendant Full Job Description

Examples of Duties:

  1. Collects and accounts for fees.
  2. Interprets natural and historic features of parks to visitors.
  3. Enforces safety rules and regulations.
  4. Performs construction, maintenance, repair, and sanitation work.
  5. Patrols the park.
  6. Develops and prepares materials for educational programs and exhibits.
  7. Leads youth recreation activities.
  8. Provides clerical and customer support.
  9. Provides courteous, high-quality service to members of the public by personally responding to requests for service or appropriate referrals.

Openings are considered as needed by the site supervisor according to the needs of the facility and the qualifications of the applicant. Applications for these positions are accepted on an ongoing basis and are kept on file for two years.
