The County of San Diego Department of Parks and Recreation is once again partnering with Live Well San Diego and Nature Unplugged for our October Hike-A-Thon. We'll be hosting a Kick-Off event and ranger-led hikes all month long at popular trails across San Diego County. Build community, discover new trails and experience the benefits of time in nature. More green time - less screen time!
In celebration of our 80th Anniversary, we'll be doing an opportunity drawing for an 80th Anniversary commemorative hat at each hike (must be present to win.)
This year, we are partnering with California Volunteers to celebrate Climate Action Week...and our kick-off event will be a little larger than in previous years.
This free, family-friendly event will feature wellness and nature themed booths with giveaways and fun activities for all ages, including a speaker program and our first ranger-led hike along Los Peñasquitos Creek.
Hundreds of volunteers will be on-site to engage in climate action service projects throughout the park, including invasive plant removal and planting natives.
