The County is reaching out to youth sports organizations to gather valuable input on Automated External Defibrillator (AED) practices and future needs. Input from these organizations is vital to help us understand how we can better support the safety and well-being of young athletes.
TAKE THE AEDs in YOUTH SPORTS SURVEY
The San Diego County Board of Supervisors recently approved exploring opportunities to expand access to AEDs for youth sports organizations. This follows California Assembly Bill 1467, which requires all youth sports programs to have an AED onsite during official practices and games by January 1, 2027. The law also requires coaches to be certified in CPR and AED operation and to have a written cardiac emergency response plan.
