Located in the San Diego County community of Lakeside, Cactus County Park presents a unique mix of recreational opportunities. Covering 59.58 acres, Cactus County Park features a 1-mile trail, ball fields and an air strip for radio-controlled airplanes. There’s also a bicycle motocross (BMX) track, operated by an outside leaseholder. Restrooms are also available.

The ball fields are available for non-organized play only when they are not in use by the Pony League or Girls Softball Association. To use the fields for organized play, please call (619) 667-6833. For more information about the BMX track, please call (619) 443-1666.

NOTE: Alcoholic drinks are not allowed at Cactus County Park.

Cactus County Park Improvements

County Parks is pleased to share that recent upgrades at Cactus County Park include a full playground replacement featuring new play structures designed children ages 2–5, with select inclusive play elements such as an orbit spinner and softball-themed steppers suitable for ages 2–12, as well as new rubberized safety surfacing, ADA parking improvements, a shade structure, renovations to the girls' softball field dugouts, replacement of field fencing, improved bleacher shade, and new sports field lighting funded by a San Diego River Conservancy grant.

A new restroom facility, also funded through the San Diego River Conservancy grant, is coming soon with completion anticipated by Late 2026.
