Cactus County Park Improvements

County Parks is bringing a series of exciting upgrades to Cactus County Park to enhance recreational opportunities for the community.

Planned improvements include rubberized safety surfacing, ADA parking upgrades, a shade structure, a full playground replacement featuring a new play structure for ages 2-5, other play elements for ages 2-5 and 5-12 such as an inclusive orbit spinner, softball-themed steppers and balance beam.

Additional enhancements include renovations to the girls’ softball field dugouts, replacement of field fencing, new bleacher shade, and more.

Thanks to grant funding awarded by the San Diego River Conservancy , County Parks is also moving forward with a restroom replacement and new sports field lighting for the girls’ softball fields.

Construction began in Fall 2025, during which Fields 1–4, the batting cages, and select parking spaces will be impacted due to active construction through Winter 2026. Access to the BMX track and Pony field will remain available.

Stay tuned as we continue to build a safer, more inclusive, and welcoming space for all park users.
