Set Your Scene with Park Backgrounds

Communication has changed in the wake of COVID-19. Activities and events that were once face-to-face are now virtual, via video conferencing technology, Facebook Live and other online channels.

Our parks and preserves remain open, albeit at a limited capacity, but for those who can’t make it out to one of our locales, we thought we’d bring the fun and fresh air to you!

Infiltrate a herd of bighorn sheep… Hike to the half-way point of San Diego’s toughest climb… Peruse the grounds outside a cabin, nature center or historic adobe… Enjoy sunset over Lake Morena… Stop to smell the lilacs in Sycamore Canyon… Graze alongside cows on the sprawling hillsides of Santa Ysabel...

This is all possible with a little creativity and perspective, thanks to our new collection of photo backgrounds designed especially for video conferencing sites.

We’ve selected some of our favorite pictures—taken at some of our most iconic locales—and made them available for download! Simply “right-click” to place yourself in a park setting.

Your staycation awaits:

If using Zoom, make sure you have one of these images downloaded. Then, from Zoom, open your Settings, click “Virtual Background”, select the image and wait for it to upload. You’ll be immediately transported to a sunny So-Cal destination!

If you snap a screenshot, share it with us using the hashtag “UpsideofInside” – it’s the Coronavirus rendition of our usual motto, “UpsideofOutside”. When we’re back to business as usual, we’ll post a collage of your home travels.

We'd love to conenct with you! Find our friendly staff on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
