Take it outside! Volcan Mountain Wilderness Preserve offers approximately 2,900 acres of mixed conifer forest. Summer hikes to the Volcan Summit are 5-mile round-trip hikes with spectacular views from desert to coast.
Hikes are led by the County Ranger and docents, leaving from the Hubbell Gateway at the entrance to the preserve on Farmer Rd. You’ll want to bring water, a snack, good footwear, and sun protection. Contact the County Ranger at (760) 765-4098 or (760) 814-0208 for the latest hiking schedule.
