Brian Albright is the Director of Parks and Recreation for the County of San Diego. Formerly, Brian served as the Director of Parks and Recreation of the City of Carlsbad, and the County’s Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation. Earlier in his career, Brian served as Chief of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities for the City of Alexandria, Virginia.
Brian oversees a staff of more than 170 employees that manage nearly 50,000 acres of land including 36 local and 19 regional parks, eight camping parks, 11 historic sites, three community centers, fishing lakes, ecological preserves, botanic gardens, open space preserves, and more than 360 miles of trails. The department also runs hundreds of programs for kids, adults and seniors across the county.
Brian holds an MBA degree in International Business from American University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Westmont College and he is a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional through the National Recreation and Park Association.
