Lake Morena County Park is a camping park located in East San Diego County. Due to its location southwest of the Laguna Mountains, the park has characteristics of desert, coastal and mountain habitats. Lake Morena Reservoir shines blue in the middle of 3,250 acres of chaparral, oak woods and grassland. Grab your gear, and get away from it all! This place is a haven for hiking, fishing and boating.

Don’t forget the s’mores! There are wilderness cabins available for camping, as well as full hook-up, partial hook-up and non hook-up sites. A youth group area is also available to reserve. A limited number of tent sites are available a short distance from the famous Pacific Crest Trail, with priority given to hikers of the Pacific Crest Trail.

Features:

  • Fishing and boating VIDEO: Meet our Fishing Guy
  • 8 miles of non-motorized multi-use trails
  • TRACK Trail for kids
  • 86 campsites
  • Wilderness cabins
  • Pavilion
  • Corporate meeting space

Thanks to an influx of rainwater in early 2017, the boat dock has reopened to the public. Beginning April 1, personal watercraft, fishing float tubes (users must wear waders), canoes and kayaks are permitted at Lake Morena. Additionally, motorized boats can be rented for daily fishing and water activities. Swimming and direct-body contact are not allowed. For further information, call the park at (619) 579-4101. Additionally, the boat dock is subject to closure during inclement weather which includes high winds, electrical storms, rain and snow storms. Please call ahead.
