On Saturday, Dec. 14, County Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Dianne Jacob and the County of San Diego Department of Parks and Recreation will open a new Nature Center in Santa Ysabel. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., attendees of this event will enjoy site tours, animal encounters, junior ranger activities, nature crafts, live music and entertainment, light refreshments and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The formal presentation will begin at 11:30 a.m.
Innovative and energy efficient, the Nature Center will serve customers who reside in the area, and who stop by on their way to and from the communities of Julian and Ramona – even Borrego Springs. With rentable space, restrooms, educational displays, ranger-led workshops and a scenic trail loop, the facility will provide customers with new connections to nature, history and recreation opportunity.
