So Easy to Hike...

County Parks launched a new trails app that makes it even easier to get information on hiking, biking and riding paths in our parks and preserves.Easy2Hike is a free app that allows users to locate and view trailheads, park maps and points of interest in Southern California and beyond.

Easy2Hike shares recommended routes near you, providing essential information like park names, addresses, phone numbers, pictures, videos (where applicable) and detailed descriptions to help you better prepare for your trail experience. Maps are downloadable for offline access.

“We’re building virtual connections between park users and park staff,” said Jessica Geiszler, Marketing & Public Outreach Manager. “What’s cool about this app is that it allows us to control content. We can load the latest, most accurate trail maps, and create push notifications that buzz when users reach areas that are closed for maintenance or restoration. It’s all part of creating that balance between recreation and ongoing efforts to sustain the natural environment.”

County Parks went live with trails at 16 properties including Agua Caliente County ParkDos Picos County Park, El Monte County Park, Goodan Ranch/Sycamore Canyon County Preserve, Guajome Regional Park, Hellhole Canyon County Preserve, Lake Morena County Park, Stelzer County Park, San Dieguito County Park, San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve, Santa Ysabel East and West County Preserves, Sweetwater Summit Regional Park, Tijuana River Valley Regional Park, Volcan Mountain Wilderness Preserve and Wilderness Gardens County Preserve.

Additional parks will be added in the coming months. App-creators will also be launching new benefits, like the ability to send instant messages to park staff, and opportunities to learn about upcoming activities and events.
