Earth Week 2020

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day! Join us the week of April 22 as we pay tribute to decades of projects that promote sustainability, smart growth and the protection of our land and local wildlife.

We work every day to balance the preservation of natural resources with efforts to enhance and expand recreation opportunity. Earth Day reminds us to celebrate those wins, and to identify new ways in which we can all reduce our carbon footprint. Together, we can support a healthy, safe and thriving San Diego.

In 2020, mindful of public health considerations due to the global coronavirus crisis, we’ll be harnessing the power of the internet to share our Earth Day message—connecting San Diegans through a series of fun, eco-conscious VIRTUAL activities!

For Kids and Teens:

For Families/All:

Also, be sure to follow us on Facebook… We’ll be posting several live ranger events, April 22 to 24!

This is all part of a larger Earth Day Campaign facilitated by the County of San Diego’s Land Use & Environmental Group. Learn more at sandiegocounty.gov/earthday.

Thank you for supporting parks, and for being an advocate for the environment. Together, we’re building a cleaner, healthier San Diego for future generations to enjoy.

The County of San Diego is committed to protecting the region’s unique and diverse natural resources. The County’s Climate Action Plan (CAP), which contains a series of measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions over the next 30 years, is administered through multiple departments – focusing on activities that occur within San Diego’s unincorporated communities and all County-owned facilities. Visit the CAP Dashboard and the 2018 Annual Monitoring Report to track progress.
